Konstantina "Dina" Gogerty
(Nee Kriaris)
Age 86, late of Lockport passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 11, 2025. Born and raised in Greece until the age of 13, lived in Chicago, and a resident of Lockport since 1964.
A devoted wife, mother, and yaya, her family was everything to her. She met her husband Tom while residing in Chicago and they went on to raise their five children. Dina had a special gift when it came to caring for children; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many she babysat. She made each of us feel special; she loved fiercely and unconditionally.
In addition to spending time with her family, Dina loved cooking, camping, and especially gardening. She was so proud of her flowers in her yard, and she could not wait until spring to get started each year. Devout member of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, Lockport. She proudly shared her faith with her family and others, and as a Sunday school teacher.
Our hearts are breaking at the thought of not having you here with us to guide us and love us as you did every day. You taught us to be strong and to never give up no matter what life throws at us. You modeled that strength always. You were a fighter, and you continued to prove that up until the very end. Your strength will live on in us and the cherished memories you blessed us with. You left us during a storm, but now rest easy, Yaya, it doesn't storm in Heaven.
Preceded in death by her cherished husband of 63 years, Thomas Gogerty; beloved great-grandson, Nathan Wolf; and her precious pup, Princess.
Survived by her loving children, Mary Bobbie Greminger, John (Ann) Gogerty, Connie (late Paul) Ganz, Thomas Gogerty Jr., and Sherri (Brad) Busch; her adored eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren; her brother, George Kriaris; and her faithful dog, Lulu.
A special thank you to Christine from Lightways Hospice for taking care of Dina. She loved you and we will be eternally grateful for the care you provided to her and us during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to TLC Animal Shelter or Lightways Hospice in Dina's name would be greatly appreciated.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL from 9:30am until time of Funeral Service at 10:30am with Deacon Kevin Ryan officiating. Interment following service at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
