Kristen Michelle Craven

Kristen Michelle Craven, 22, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Kristen was born on January 22, 2002, in Clovis, California to Patricia (Patty) Louise Alvior Craven and Christopher (Chris) Michael Craven. She was an inspiring young woman who was known for her caring, helpful and inspiring attitude, while always having the ability to welcome others into her life. Kristen had an extraordinary way of holding her friends and family in the highest regard while being there for them when they needed it. When she saw people in need, she thought it out and found a way to help them, whether it was listening to them when they were in need, giving them clothes or supplying lunches, she was compassionate.
She was a Girl Scout from age 5 to 18 and an adult volunteer and registered lifetime member with GSUSA after. She was known for loving art of all types, traveling, Asian Culture, K-Pop music, singing karaoke and most of all her cat Ellie. She was known for enjoying Minecraft and was a fan of League of Legends where she would be awake at odd hours watching the tournaments. She loved her school, New Mexico State University, Beta Alpha Psi and most of all Delta Sigma Pi. She held the following positions with Delta Sigma Pi – President – May 2023 – Jan. 2024, National Collegiate Advisory Committee, Sept. 2022 – Jun. 2023, Vice President of Professional Activities – Dec. 2022 – May 2023, and Vice President of Chapter Operations – May 2022 – Dec. 2022, and was Vice President of Outreach for Beta Alpha Psi. On LinkedIn, she posted, "I am so glad to be able to help offer insight from a collegian's perspective as a part of the Collegiate Advisory Committee. It has been a wonderful journey so far with so many great people!" Kristen was proud she attended six different conferences in the past year traveling around the country. Each conference she came back with more knowledge and having met many new people she would call friends. She was blessed with internships with PwC (Charlotte, North Carolina) in the summer of 2023 and with Whitley Penn (Hobbs, New Mexico) in the summer of 2022. Her goals were to become a CPA and retire by 45.
Kristen is survived by her parents, Patty and Chris Craven, sister Katie Craven, Thomas Wilkinson, and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 pm Friday February 9, 2024 at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E. Bowman Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88001. A reception after the services will be held at First Church of the Nazarene, 1900 S. Locust, Las Cruces, NM.
