Kristi "Skye" Yergeau, aged 36 years old, of Colchester, VT, passed away on November 22, 2025.
Kristi was born on January 27, 1989 in Burlington, VT. She was a graduate of Ripon High School in California, class of 2006. She is survived by her parents, Allen and Vina Yergeau, her partner, Mariana Bernal, and her brother, Justin Yergeau.
Like her Nana, she had a particular spot in her heart for children. Although she chose to never have any herself, she was a caregiver to ten. Some, for over 15 years. Kristi was never one to hold her thoughts back. In fact, she was proud of it. She wanted to ensure her world and everything she did, was against the grain. She was so passionate about what she wanted that she graduated with honors, ahead of time, just to cross the country and be with Mariana.
Kristi was, without a doubt, one of the most loyal friends, family members, daughter, sister, and partner. Her loyalty doesn't end with just people she knew. She also loved animals. To her, they were her family members. All animals, not just ones in her home. Kristi was also incredibly passionate about Fortnite. She wanted to see everyone succeed, even while playing, so much so that she would give her "crown" to others, so they could enjoy the experience that much more. Kristi was also a reader of readers. For some, a novel takes time to finish. For Kristi, an afternoon. In school, she took pride in reading nearly a hundred books a year. When Kristi put her mind to something, that something needed to think twice, because she was going to conquer it. From physical challenges to mental ones, if she wanted to do it, there was nothing that could stop her. Creative solutions, and some extra thinking, seeing the box but never being in it, was her.
In honor of Kristi, there will be a visitation at LaVigne Funeral & Cremation Service, 132 Main St., Winooski on Tuesday, December 2, from 3-5pm.
Her life and her choices haven't been average and typical, as some others, but as she and one of her favorites, Frank Sinatra, put it; she did it her way.
