Kristina Rae Leonard, a beloved grandmother, mother, and homemaker, was born on December 15, 1967, in Wichita, Kansas, and departed this world on March 14, 2024. A light that shone with humor, adventure, love, and compassion, she was always ready to extend a helping hand even when her resources were limited. An adventurous spirit, she looked forward to exploring the outdoors, spending summers at the lake with her family, and casting the fishing line. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, fueled by her love for rock & roll, the beat of which seemed to echo her own lively spirit.
Having grown up in Valley Center, Kansas under the nurturing care of her grandparents, Clifford and Pauline Scrivner, Kristina graduated from Valley Center High School. She later moved to Lawrence, Kansas to live with her aunt and further her education. Despite the challenges and distances, Kristina did her best to remain a part of her family's life. Her dedication to ensuring family gatherings during holidays, birthdays, and cookouts was a testament to her commitment to celebrate love and create cherished memories.
While she felt she was not always able to be the mom she wanted to be, Kristina found joy and redemption in her role as a grandmother. Her love for her family was her compass, guiding her actions and thoughts. As someone famous once said, "The love of a family is life's greatest blessing," and Kristina was truly a blessing to her family.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Kaycia Hatfield of Wellington; daughter, Connie Stowell of Wellington; son, Talon Stowell of Douglass, Kansas; three grandchildren, Claire, Eli and Zoey Buettgenbach all of Andover, Kansas along with several extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Joyce Leonard; grandparents, Clifford and Pauline Scrivner and her sister, Janet Scrivner.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Bryce Day Memorial Foundation to assist with her cremation expenses. Contributions can be mailed to PO Box 102, Wellington, Kansas 67152.
There are no services currently planned. We invite all those who knew Kristina to share a memory, leave condolences, or sign her digital tribute wall at www.cornejofuneralhome.com.
