Age 72 of Wilmington, Illinois, and formerly of Burbank, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at her home.
Born January 6, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, Kristine Catherine was a daughter of Charles and June (King) Swanson. She was raised in Burbank and graduated from Reavis High School.
Kristine dedicated over two decades of her career as a machine operator with BorgWarner before retiring. Outside of work, she found joy in the great outdoors, whether it was racing canoes, casting a fishing line, or simply taking in the beauty of nature. However, nothing brought her more happiness than her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Kristine will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, her unwavering positivity, and her ability to find goodness in everyone she met. She was a sweet soul who never spoke a harsh word and left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish the love and warmth she shared.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Romano of Wilmington; four grandsons: Derrick Romano, Anthony Romano, Jacob Romano and Nathaniel Romano; one sister, Bonnie Miller; one brother, Chuck Swanson and nieces and nephews: Shelley, Chris, Kailie and Charlie.
Kristine was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Martin Peterson and one sister, Cyndi Swanson.
Cremation have been accorded.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation and celebration of Kristine’s life at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on March 22, 2025 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
