Kurt Canterbury Obituary
Kurt T. Canterbury, 49, of Hartville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 1, 2024. He was born in Canton, Ohio on July 21, 1974, to James and Marian (Quinn) Canterbury.
He was a 1992 graduate of Waterloo High School.
Kurt was a self-taught handy-man and was self-employed for most of his life, perfecting his skills with each new project or renovation. He was very inventive and had a green thumb like nobody's business.
He was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone and not expect anything in return.
Kurt will be deeply missed by those who were lucky enough to know him.
He leaves behind his dad, James Canterbury; sister, Kerrie (Don) Horning and brother Kevin (Jill) Canterbury; nephew Josh (Katie) Glover; niece Katie Glover; great-nephews Austin, Owen and Jace; and great-niece Giavanna.
Kurt was preceded in death by his mom, Marian and his beloved furry companion, Dozer.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 11th from 5-7 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home-Hartville location.
Kurt's family would like to give a special thanks to Dave and Woody for always being there for Kurt no matter.

Kurt was a master painter whose excellent eye for color kept our condos looking beautiful for years. We were fortunate to have him as a friend who was always there when we needed him. His humor and expertise will be missed.

My deepest condolences to Kurt´s family and friends.

We spent considerable time hanging out as teenagers through high school graduation and several months beyond. I have very fond memories of Kurt, spending time rabbit hunting, riding three wheelers, camping, mischief, skipping school days our last year-all those things teens do. We would always meet at his dad´s farm off Pontius Road with our group of friends I recall on a couple of occasions when we were about 14 years old taking his dad´s old muscle car out for spins to Alliance and around town-of course while his dad worked third shift at Timken. That car may have been a charger, but I don´t recall-we had fun. Kurt was very good at building and fixing things-he enjoyed wood crafting, auto body work, he was good with finishing drywall. It was always a great time with Kurt. Nothing but good memories.

May my friend rest in peace. I am grateful of the time we had together. Forever in my memories.
