Kurt Wayne Dettloff, born on August 27, 1958, in Monroe, Michigan, passed away on November 1, 2025, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, at the age of 67.

Kurt lived a life marked by deep devotion to his family and a passion for his hobbies. Introduced to his wife Tina by her sister Kim in 1985, they married in 1989, beginning a journey together that was filled with love and adventure. A true movie enthusiast, Kurt held a special affection for *Terminator II*, even naming his beloved boat after the iconic film. Many cherished memories were made boating on Lake Erie, where he, Tina, and his two sons found joy and tranquility.

Kurt's adventurous spirit was further evidenced by the road trips he took with his family. He greatly enjoyed visiting his sister Kim and brother-in-law Gene in Florida, where highlights included memorable trips to Universal.

Known for his stoic demeanor and quick wit, Kurt was known as a wise guy and a caring soul, qualities that those who knew him closely admired. Above all else, his greatest source of pride and happiness came from the time spent with his family. His love and devotion extended to every member, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Violet Dettloff, and his brother, Mark Dettloff. His legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Tina Dettloff, his children Ian (Katie) Dettloff and Adam Dettloff, and his grandchildren, Lucy and Henry. He is also survived by his siblings Scott (Sharon) Dettloff and Kimberly (Gene) Wier, along with his sister-in-law, Lynn Dettloff.

Kurt's memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends who continue to hold him dear in their hearts.
