Kyan Renae Arnold

Kyan Renae (Blackwood) Arnold, 50, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, with her loving family by her side at St. Francis Hospital, Greenwood. She was born June 25, 1974, in Columbus, Indiana to the late Rex Allen Blackwood and Judy D. Waskom, who survives.
Kyan enjoyed careers as a sales manager in the retail industry and as a bartender, an occupation she truly loved. She also enjoyed traveling to area festivals and browsing flea markets. She loved spending time with her husband Doug and her beloved puppy Mia Grace.
Kyan is remembered as a spitfire with a vibrant spirit. Her legacy of love and strength will continue to live on through her family and all who knew her.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Douglas Arnold; her mother, Judy D. Waskom; sons, Kyle Staley, Zachary (Vanessa) Staley, and Cody Staley; sisters, Kenya A. King, Nicki Kleber, and Leota Satterthwaite; brother, Jordan Cook; grandchildren, Jodeci, Landon, Eleanora, and Eliza; aunt, Sharon K. Percival; many nieces and nephews; and long-time friend, Don Mink.
She is preceded in death by her father, Rex Allen Blackwood; stepfather, James L. Waskom; grandparents, Ed Raymon Brown, Ruby O. Hammond, James K. Blackwood, and Betty Jean Blackwood; and uncles, Lyle L. Blackwood and Michael S. Blackwood.
Care has been entrusted to Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kyan's honor may be made in care of Douglas Arnold to help defray final expenses. Memorial contributions in her honor may also be made out to the Humane Society of Jackson County or to the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana.
