Kyle Bearnson Obituary

Visit the Spring Creek Mortuary - Springville website to view the full obituary.

Kyle William Bearnson was born June 22, 1960 in Payson, Utah. Kyle backed into the world to greet an anxious father (William John Bearnson), and a tired mother (Kathleen Patrick). He had a superior intellect, creativity, insight and wisdom which would enable him to perceive value and worth in others during his life.

His time with his father was short as he died a year after his birth from kidney failure resulting from sun stroke. His heart was filled once again after his mother remarried and he welcomed his new brothers Bradley Jean Hammond (deceased), Stephan Hammond and sister Kimberly Hammond Averett. He loved his brothers and sister. There was never a dull moment when Kyle was in charge. Whether it was sledding, indoor baseball/basketball, atari games, listening to music or hanging out. Life was centered around family activities. Kyle was dependable shouldering responsibilities in caring for his much younger brothers and sister. A highlight was when Kyle built us a ski run off the roof and into the front yard. He also took us down to the bottomless Mill ponds where the spring water bubbled through the loose rocks. We would walk to Johnson Tires to get inner tubes to float down the river and around the Mill Ponds. Music has always been important to Kyle who could play the piano and loved to listen to various artists and genres. No one could win against him in a game of Name that Tune. During this time, he also excelled in his school work and extracurricular activities.

Kyle has the heart of a poet and the intellect of a scholar. He has many notable achievements in debate, poetry and scholarship. Kyle graduated with high honors and then attended BYU. At BYU he studied Political Science with a minor emphasis in English. He was also on the college debate team where he traveled to Chicago to compete in Nationals. He then took a 9 month break from school to travel and work in Hawaii enjoying the surf and sun while working at a local hotel. He moved to Salt Lake City in 1984 to work in the music industry at Western Merchandisers. He worked there for the next six years and we enjoyed attending several concerts with backstage passes. He then decided to go into business with John Green where they owned and operated the Main Street Deli and Grill. After closing the business for the next 16 years he worked for Direct TV, Page Net and Dollar Financial as a project manager and quality analyst. He worked at Achieve global where he was a team educator traveling around the country to teach leadership skills. He ended his career at Ever Rise where he was a compliance manager for Humana health. Because of his great work ethic, intelligence and loyalty Kyle has always done well in any work environment.

Kyle’s life partner John Green was deeply fond of Kyle and loved him greatly. They were inseparable. In the 35 years they were together they had a house of animals with multiple dogs, a parrot and canaries. Through the years, they lost many dog companions but their home was always open to love new furry friends along the way.

Kyle died 12–2-25 from cancer. Kyle left a great impact on all those around him, especially his family. He is a peacemaker with unconditional love and acceptance. Music filled his soul and charity emanated through his actions. Kyle was a source of joy and happiness. A treasure beyond value and of eternal worth. He will be greatly missed but he will live in our hearts until we meet again.
