Kyle Nielsen, age 44, passed away this week on December 21, 2025, leaving behind a heartbroken family who loved him deeply and will miss him always.

As a child, Kyle was sweet, gentle, had an active imagination, and he loved to be silly and make people smile and laugh. He carried those traits with him throughout his life and was a good brother, son, and father; a thoughtful gift giver; and a caring friend.

Kyle was funny, kind, and smart, with a quiet way of connecting to the people around him. He was always good with computers and from his young teen years loved to build his own and was an early adopter of all new tech advances. He loved video games and often used them as a way to stay connected with family and friends- sharing laughs, competition, and time together across any distance. Gaming was more than a hobby for Kyle; it was one of the ways he built and maintained meaningful connections throughout his life.

Kyle had a deep love for Hawaii and living there for ten years was a dream come true for him. It was more than a place he lived; it was his home in every sense of the word. He found happiness in the simple rituals of island life, spending hours walking the beaches, carefully searching the sand for shells, especially cowries, which he collected with a childlike sense of wonder. Those moments by the ocean brought him a rare sense of calm; standing still, looking out at the endless water, he seemed truly at peace. In Hawaii, Kyle found the life he had long imagined, a place that held him gently and gave him solace, even in its silence.

Kyle loved his sweet son, Ely and loved taking him on adventures to Lagoon, Cherry Hill, and having “boys’ nights”- staying up too late playing video games, watching movies, summer sleepovers on the trampoline, and just having fun. One of their favorite places was the Bountiful Bubble and they both grew up learning to swim there. Ely absolutely adored his dad and always ran to give him a hug whenever they were together.

In recent years Kyle was grateful for the companionship of his parents. He was the resident tech genius and solved any computer, TV, and phone issues and questions that came up in their home - usually with a creative and fun solution that he thought would make his parents' lives easier. Kyle loved to spend the evenings introducing them to his favorite tv series and movies including Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate, NCIS and its spinoffs, Firefly and ALL the Marvel movies.

Kyle is survived by his parents, Ron and Nancy Nielsen; his birth mother, Ronalee Mills Summers; his birth family, Tom Summers and Cal & Ruth Mills; his sister, Candace Horne, and her children, Meredith, Lauren, and Jacob; his brother and sister-in-law, Chase and Ivy Nielsen; and his son, Ely, whom he loved deeply.

Kyle will be remembered for his humor and kindness, his love of being with family and friends, his curiosity and ideas for fun, and his amazing ability to connect with anyone and make friends anywhere. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the moments he made brighter simply by being himself.

Funeral services will be held on Monday December 29, 2025, at 12 noon at Ron & Nancy’s church located at 14 Bonanza Drive, Farmington, UT 84025. The family will gather at 11:30am and lunch will be provided after the services by the Farmington Bay 3rd Ward Relief Society. Flowers and condolences can be sent any time to Ron & Nancy’s home, or to the church for delivery that morning.
