Lady Ren'e Walker Baker, beloved daughter, sister and mother, passed away on October 21, 2024, in Mobile, Alabama at the age of 56. She was dedicated to her family, friends and four-legged companions.

Ren'e was born in Starkville, Mississippi. During her early years, Ren'e's family moved around the country frequently for work. Two of her favorite places to live during that time were Colorado and Puerto Rico. Her family later returned to Starkville where they settled permanently. Ren'e graduated from Starkville Academy. She eventually moved to Mobile, Alabama where she attended University of South Alabama Nursing School and worked as a bookkeeper for various companies.

Ren'e was most passionate about her daughter, Jess, and her nephew, Michael, whom she considered her second child. She took every opportunity to spoil them when she could. She was an avid animal lover and had many pets over the years. Her most recent companion was her beloved Gabriel, a 16-year-old Spitz. Ren'e also loved renovating and redesigning her homes and enjoyed a good margarita. She captured everyone's hearts with her contagious laughter, welcoming spirit and flattering words. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Andrew) Lisenby of Mobile, AL; her nephew, Michael Guillotte of Starkville, MS; parents Mary and Edwin Self of Starkville, MS; brothers Mark (Peggy) Arick of Starkville, MS; and Wayne (Marie) Arick of Marianna, FL; sister Michelle Guillotte of Starkville, MS; as well as numerous nephews and great-nieces and -nephews. Ren'e was preceded in death by her grandparents, two aunts, and by her most loyal friend and companion, her dog Gabriel.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, 2 p.m., at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
