Lafeder Latrice Curry, affectionately known as "Dimp" transitioned into the kingdom of Heaven on June 10, 2024. Dimp was loved by so many and left an impressionable mark on anyone and everything she touched. Her huge smile, laughter and many jokes would light up the entire room. Dimp was a true warrior and will truly be missed.
Dimp was born in Biloxi, MS to Walter Wright and Bobby Neil Curry. At an early age she relocated to Houston, TX where she received formal education from local schools within Houston Independent School District. Traveling into adulthood, Dimp obtained employment in the food service industry at Park Plaza Hospital where she later on retired and became an entrepreneur.
While enjoying her retirement, Dimp met and married Danyel Brown. Many memories were created as they traveled with their children and grandchildren and kept a very active social life.
Dimp's most fondest hobbies included playing pool and spades with her 4th Ward family.
Dimp's love for her family and friends, especially her favorite cousin/best friend Veronica Curry was one like no other. The devotion to her children and grandchildren was always shown by her spreading joy and ensuring that they knew she loved them. She was very active in the rearing of her grandchildren and they created an unbreakable bond.
Preceding her in death was her parents, Bobby Neil Curry and Walter Wright, grandmother Ollie Mae Weathersby, and great grandmother Louise Barnes.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories; Her wife Danyel Brown-Curry, daughters Deonicia Curry, Regina Curry, Renee Curry, Ursula Erskin, Roddickey Cossey and Kennedy Brown, sons Roderick Cossey and Douglas Burk, 9 grandchildren, sister Philondrea Waters (Brad Waters), brothers Maduesuel Curry Sr. (Lakeisha Curry) and Yusuf Curry, a niece, 4 nephews, and a host of family and friends all of whom she deeply loved and cared about.
