Laine Bourn Obituary
Beverly "Laine" Bourn, age 67, of Edwardsville, Kansas passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2pm, Saturday, April 20th at the Maywood Community Church (11201 Parallel Pkwy, Kansas City, KS. 66109). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the KC Pet Project or the Kidney Foundation.
Laine was born on November 19th, 1956 in Kansas City, Kansas, and was one of three daughters born to Louie & Laurel (Holyfield) Perry. She and her sisters were raised in Piper, where they attended school and Laine graduated
from Piper High School in the class of 1974. She and her sisters were raised in the Maywood Community Church where she sang in the choir. On June 6, 1981, she married Ed Bourn and together they made their home in
Edwardsville. Laine had worked in customer service at First National Bank in Overland Park, Kansas. She loved her cats and gardening. She also loved to cook and was known for the cakes she made and decorated, for all kinds of occasions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Leigh Lasiter, and a sister-in-law: Brenda Bourn.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Bourn of the home, sister: Leslie Nigh and her husband Darren, nieces and nephews: Dylan Nigh, Landon Nigh, Jennifer Powell and her husband John, Kimberly Romero and her husband Adam, Brandi Pond and husband David, Kaci Frame and husband James. In-laws: Carlton & Barbara Bourn, and her brother-in-law: Steve Bourn and his wife Lynne.

I met the Perry family when I was 10; most of my interactions were with Leslie & Laurel but plenty of memories with Laine, Leigh, Louie (& Mrs. Holyfield).
I remember Laine as a gentle soul with a happy face.

Laine was always such a kind and thoughtful person. When we were neighbors with she and her husband Ed, she would always remember my kids at Halloween and get them special treats. She was always a bright light and funny too. Although after moving we didn't see them often my husband and I thought about her family and were so blessed to know her. We'll miss you Laine!!
