Sue Treff Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Inc. on Dec. 22, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sue Treff, aged 73, of Basehor, Kansas. Sue peacefully departed this life on Friday, December 19, 2025, at her home.

Born on September 9, 1952, in South Korea, Sue's life was a testament to resilience, love, and cultural pride. She embarked on a remarkable journey to the United States, proudly achieving her U.S. citizenship in 1993, a milestone that reflected her deep commitment to her adopted homeland.

Sue was a woman of warmth and spirit, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. She found immense joy in the captivating narratives of Korean soap operas, spending countless hours immersed in their stories on YouTube. Her culinary talents were legendary, particularly her mastery of traditional Korean cuisine. Family and friends fondly remember her as an exceptional chef, renowned especially for her exquisite Bulgogi, a dish she prepared with unparalleled love and precision, bringing smiles and comfort to many gatherings.

Sue was preceded in death by her beloved brother Lee Dong Woo. And leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by her devoted husband of 15 years, Greg Treff, of the home; her loving son, Hong Sun-Gi; her cherished sister, Bada Cline and her husband, James; her dear niece, Lizzie Cline; and her brother, Won Hae Yon.

In honoring Sue's wishes, Graveside Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026 at the Glenwood Cemetery in Basehor, Kansas to celebrate her remarkable life and enduring spirit.
