Lakram "Lake" Baijnauth, a man whose joking ways was as infectious as his drive was indomitable, left this world on July 23, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on December 23, 1939, in Berbice, Guyana, Lake's journey led him to the shores of Fort Pierce, FL, where he peacefully passed away due to pneumonia, surrounded by the love of his family and daughter's friends. Lake was the beloved husband of Kamlawaty, and together they built a life rich with love and laughter. He was a man that came from humble beginnings but came to America and built a successful life. He used his success to help his family and friends. He was the cherished father of Roshini, Gregory and adopted children Sabrina and Chan, and the respected father-in-law to Andrew. Lake's legacy extended to his adored grandchildren, Joey, Joy, Justin, Angelina, and adopted granddaughter Tina, who will carry forward his spirit of joy and resilience. Lake was a man of many talents and an entrepreneur at heart. He began his career as a chef, a role in which he combined his love for food with his innate ability to bring people together. His culinary journey was just the beginning; Lake's entrepreneurial spirit led him to create a successful bed and breakfast with an adjoining farm. His ventures grew to include clubs, bars, buildings, and an assisted living facility. He was the type of man that would buy limousines, just because he could, but still remained humble. Each endeavor was marked by Lake's personal touch and commitment to excellence. Lake's interests were as varied as they were passionate. He was an avid fisherman, often found by the water's edge, cast net in hand, with a smile on his face. His sense of humor was legendary; making people laugh was not just a pastime but a vocation. Lake was also drawn to the excitement of the casino and the familiar comfort of traveling to his native Guyana, where he reconnected with his roots and shared his adventures with family and friends. He also took his success there to help others in need. Above all, Lake was known for being selfless, handy, and courageous. He approached every challenge with a can-do attitude and a heart willing to serve others. His hands, skilled and strong, fixed what was broken and created what was needed. Lake's courage was evident in his willingness to take risks and his ability to face adversity with unwavering determination. As a motivational force, Lake embodied the words of Helen Keller: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." He lived by this mantra, embracing each day as an opportunity to explore, to love, and to make a difference. His life was indeed a daring adventure, filled with stories of triumph, moments of joy, and an enduring legacy of impact. Lake's memory will be a beacon to all who knew him, inspiring them to live boldly, love deeply, and laugh heartily. His life was a testament to the power of positivity and the strength of the human spirit. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary man, we carry forward the essence of his being-the laughter, the love, and the unwavering courage that defined him. Lake Baijnauth's journey through life was marked by his ability to uplift and encourage everyone he met. Today, as we celebrate his life, let us honor his memory by living as he did; with selflessness, a handy touch, and the courage to face each new day with optimism and grace. Lake's story is not one of an end but a beautiful chapter in the ongoing narrative of a life well-lived, a life that continues to inspire and motivate through the love he shared and the lives he touched.
