Lalit Mehra passed peacefully at the age of 80 on December 14, 2024. Lalit was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, a cherished friend, and a devoted member of the community. Born on August 23, 1944 in India, Lalit led a life filled with hard work and dedication. He attended the University of Delhi for his B.E. in Civil Engineering and Master's in Business Administration. He worked in the Indian Railways before moving to the US.
In search of a better life for his family, Lalit moved his family to Houston, Texas, in 1976. He received his second Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Houston. He moved to Denver, Colorado, in 1991 and started Quality Linings & Painting in 1997. Under his strong leadership, this company has grown to become a successful coating application company, with projects at the Denver Union Station, Denver International Airport, and other trademark locations throughout Denver.
Above all, Lalit was known for his warm heart, immense kindness, and compassion. He always embraced life with an infectious joy that touched everyone around him. Whether through small acts of generosity or meaningful conversations, he made the world a better place just by being in it. Lalit truly lived by the motto that life is a gift, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.
Lalit is survived by his wife Shubha, his son Kunal, his daughter Nitasha, his daughter-in-law Navi, and his three grandchildren - Nikhil, Kavin, and Kailyn.
A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 12:15 PM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO, 80014.
