LaMarcus DeWayne Morris

It is with profound sadness that the family of LaMarcus Dewayne Morris announces his sudden passing on December 27, 2025, at the age of 29.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at the Chaney Harkins Funeral Home Chapel, 528 S. 3rd Street McAlester, Oklahoma.
A tribute of Marcus's life will take place at Hartshorne Elementary Activity Center, 862 N. Cherokee, Hartshorne, Oklahoma on December 31, 2025 at 12:00 pm, officiated by Lacey Arreola. Marcus will be laid to rest at Bache Red Oak Cemetery in Bache, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Jarrod Holt, Chris Dunafan, Eddie Morris, Harold Meashintubby Jr, Harold "Boog" Meashintubby, III, and Isaac Sieg.
Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Meashintubby, Byson Pope, Calvin Bryce, Dallas Herring, Nathan Herring, and all of Marcus's nephews and cousins.
Marcus was born in Talihina, Ok to Tammie Morris on September 3, 1996. Marcus was a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation. He was a 2015 graduate of Hartshorne High School, where he excelled in football. A natural athlete with a strong competitive spirit, Marcus was a key player for the Miners and earned All-State honors. He was known for his strength, dedication, and leadership both on and off the field. Marcus continued his football career at the University of Central Oklahoma, carrying with him the same determination and drive.
Following his football career, Marcus developed a deep passion for bodybuilding, which quickly became a cornerstone of his life. He was also successful in his professional career, earning several awards for his dedication and hard work. A familiar and dedicated presence at the gym, he rarely missed a day of training. His impressive physique reflected his discipline and relentless work ethic. Marcus took pride in sharing his knowledge and encouraging others in their fitness journeys. Despite his imposing size, he was known for his gentle heart, kindness, and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. His infectious enthusiasm for life and fitness inspired many, and he will be deeply missed.
Marcus is survived by his Granny, Lindsy Jo Pope Moody of Hartshorne; parents, Tammie Davidson of Hartshorne and Jeffery Shores of Oklahoma City; his sister, Cierria Morris and her children Nieces, Khaleah, Khalani, and Keiko; Nephews Koen and Kendon all of Hartshorne; his brothers, Jalen Shores, Jayzen Shores, Jordan Shores of Oklahoma City; his best friend Jarrod Holt of Oklahoma City; and special friends Kirby Smith and her children Kenya Copeland, Kiersten Smith, Bryson Smith and Mackenzie Holt and her children Indie Harden, Navie Louise; his beloved dog, Meeko. He is also survived by his Uncle, Eddie Morris of Hartshorne; Great Aunts and Uncles, John Pope Jr and Reba Pope; Edwinna Gehring all of McAlester, Barbara and Jim Lann of Cushing, Ok; Karen Yells Eagle and Lora "Boo" Dunafan both of Hartshorne; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother Alex Davidson Jr.; his grandfather Wayne Morris; his great grandparents, John and Virgie "Sally" Pope; Uncle, Roderick "Bosco" Pope. Great Uncle's, Frank Pope, Howard Pope, C.A. Dunafan, Gary Gehring; Cousins, Gary Gehring Jr., and Elijah YellsEagle.
