Lamont Everett "Burger" Miller, 48 was born on June 28, 1976, in Southampton, NY, to Donessa Walker and Anthony "Chicken" Miller. Lamont grew up in Southampton with his family but spent much of his time at his beloved Grams' house on the Hill-a place that became the heart of the family. Grams was the matriarch, and her home was where generations gathered for the legendary backyard parties. If you know, you know.
Lamont graduated from Southampton High School in 1995, where he played varsity football and made lifelong friends. He started his career at Country Gear furniture store in Bridgehampton. In 2004, he met the love of his life, Lisa, and together they built a family filled with love and laughter. They welcomed their first child, Gianna, in 2008. Lamont earned his CDL in 2009 and, in 2010, began his dream job with Sag Harbor Union Free School District-the same year their daughter Madison was born. The family continued to grow with the arrival of Samantha in 2016 and Dominick in 2019.
Lamont found immense joy in his work, becoming a beloved presence for the students of Sag Harbor. He was the first and last face they saw each school day, always greeting them with a smile. His gift of laughter brightened the lives of all who knew him, and he was known for his genuine kindness and positive energy.
Burger was a dedicated sports fan who loved discussing game stats, and his loyalty to the New York Jets was unwavering-a true testament to his resilience and humor. Few things test a person's loyalty like being a Jets fan, but Lamont embraced it proudly. Above all, Lamont was a genuine, kind soul who brought light and laughter wherever he went. He was a straight shooter and would always tell it like it is, yet he had a heart full of love. His love language was humor, and he believed there was no problem that couldn't be eased with a good laugh. Lamont was predeceased in death by his sister Kiesha Miller and brother in-law Rocco Perino. He leaves to mourn his memories his wife Lisa, and children Gianna, Madison, Samantha and Dominick; parents Donessa Walker (Michael) and Anthony "Chicken" Miller (Jennifer); his grandmother Lessie Miller; brother Keith Wingfield, and sisters Tanisha Highsmith (Curtis), and Kristen Davis; his mother and father-in-law Anita Bennett and William Perino; sister in-law Samantha Perino. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Lamont "Burger" Miller will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit lives on in the laughter and love he shared with everyone lucky enough to know him.
