Landon G. Leatherman

Landon G. F. Leatherman, 86, of Antioch, WV, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at his son's home surrounded by loved ones while under the care of Mountain Hospice.
Born on March 8, 1937 in Mineral County, WV, he was a son of the late Otis M. and Bessie A. (Rohrbaugh) Leatherman. He also was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruth L. "Sis" (Cheshire) Leatherman on January 19, 2022; a sister, Evelyn Knotts and a brother, Garland Leatherman.
Mr. Leatherman was retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways after 28 years of service and was a member of the Knobley Covenant Brethren Church, New Creek, WV. Landon enjoyed hunting, farming and listening to bluegrass music.
Surviving are his children, Jeff Leatherman and wife Mary of Antioch and Brenda Johnson and husband Dale of Elk Garden, WV; six grandchildren, Justin Johnson and fiancee Paige Buckholtz, Brittany (Johnson) Alston and husband Tanai, Chelsie Leatherman, Caitlin Leatherman, Cheyenne (Leatherman) Dolly and husband Hunter and Chasity Leatherman and five great grandchildren, Nataleigh and Haleigh Johnson, Khloe Milleson, Amara Alston and Savannah Slagle. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Ruby Leatherman of Antioch and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Knobley Covenant Brethren Church, New Creek, on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted immediately following the visitation at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger Leatherman officiating.
Interment will be in the Thrush Cemetery, Antioch.
The Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
