LaRene Lee Winniford-Morgan-Hyatt
of Anderson, 87 years old, passed away on
October 13, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Redding,
CA surrounded by her loving family. She went to
heaven on this day to join her oldest son, Clint,
on his 65th birthday. LaRene was born in
Westwood, CA on August 15, 1937 to Jess D. and
Irene M. Boshoff Winniford.
LaRene spent her life in Lassen, Alameda and
Shasta Counties. She attended elementary
school in Westwood, high school in Oakland and
graduated from Anderson Union High School in
1955. LaRene held various positions in Shasta
County. She was an usher at Valley Theater in
Anderson where she was introduced to her first
husband, Clint (Jr.), by their mutual friends
Clarence and Faithie Taylor. The job that LaRene
was most proud of was starting the library at
Anderson Elementary School in 1956. She told
the story that she started the library with one
stack of books.
Left behind, is LaRene's daughter, Debbie
Morgan Hackford and son-in-law Walt Hackford
of Hawthorne, NV. Her son, Jon Morgan and
daughter-in-law Debbie Morgan of Anderson,
CA. LaRene also leaves behind her precious
grandchildren Tiffany Ellison, Brian Tarleton,
Michael Weisser, Michelle Kochan, and Trevor
Adey; her great grandchildren Crystal and Isaiah
Jiminez, Madison Ellison, Kholby Kochan, Kashus
Kochan and Easton Adey; and great great
grandchildren Anthonio and Danielle Jiminez.
LaRene is also survived by her brother-in-law, Richard E. Morgan and sister-in-law Maxine Morgan, her beloved cousin Bob Ghisolfo; many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends; Ann VanWetter and Donna Gray Glenn. LaRene was predeceased by her parents, her dear sister Beth Winniford, her husbands Clint D. Morgan in 1977 and Leo Hyatt in 2020, her sons Jay D. Morgan in 2004 and Clint D. Morgan in 2019 as well as many other loved ones.
As a young girl LaRene was an active member of
The Girl Scouts of America and The International
Order of Rainbow for Girls. In her adult years she
belonged to Eastern Star, the Young Homemakers Club, Ladies Auxiliary VFW and Cottonwood Schools PTA. Always supporting her four children she worked with the Cottonwood Little League, was Assistant Leader of Blue Birds, Camp Fire Girls and Cub Scouts and was a Past Mother Advisor of Rainbow Girls.
A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00
p.m. at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel, 2030
Howard Street, Anderson on Friday, October 25,
2024 followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at
the Cottonwood Cemetery located at 20499 First
Street, Cottonwood. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to the Go Fund Me Page for Trevor

Shascade Community Services for Disabled

The family would like to express their gratitude
to the wonderful caregivers of IHSS and the
loving neighbors who made it possible for
LaRene to remain in her home as long as
possible. Love and appreciation is extended
especially to LaRene's loving daughter-in-law,
Debbie Morgan, who worked with and managed
her in home care.
LaRene loved her family more than life. We will
forever love and miss you, mom, and your fierce unconditional love.
