Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors - DentonLarry Lee Bailey, 88, of Krum, Texas, passed away on February 6, 2026. He was born on February 28, 1938, in Forestburg, Texas, and was known for his love of the Lord and his strong work ethic.
Larry grew up in Forestburg, Texas, where he played basketball and participated in Future Farmers of America. He won awards for his show steers at the State Fair. On May 11, 1957, Larry married the love of his life, Patricia (Patsy) Farar Bailey, and they moved to Colorado Springs, where he served as a military police officer in the United States Army.
After completing his service in the Army, Larry and Patsy moved to Lubbock, Texas, where he attended Texas Tech University and received a degree in Agriculture. Larry was active in the community and was always ready to help those in need.
In 1974, Larry and Patsy moved to Denton, Texas, where he started Insurance Services Agency. They worked side by side in the insurance business for over 30 years. Larry loved farming and ranching and continued working the land in Forestburg, Texas, where he raised hogs, cattle, and exotic deer. He loved taking his children and grandchildren fishing. Larry also enjoyed buying real estate and improving it.
He will be remembered for his work in the community, his insurance services, his ranching and real estate endeavors, and his service in the U.S. Army. Larry was especially known for his love of the Lord, his devotion to his family, and his strong work ethic. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patsy Bailey; his children, Sharon Long and husband Bode Long, Donald Bailey and wife Liz Bailey, and Cindy Gonzales and husband Charles Gonzales; his grandchildren, T.J. Maloney and wife Rina, Matthew Gonzales and wife Tiffnie, Meagan Gonzales, Brittany Tucker and husband Reed, and Madison Gonzales; and his six great-grandchildren: Chase, Azzi, Hazel, Bailey, Dakota, and Elijah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jaunita Bailey, and his brother, Ronald Bailey.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 28, 2026, at Singing Oaks Church of Christ in Denton, Texas. Donations in Larry’s honor may be made to Singing Oaks Church of Christ.
