Larry R. Barnette, 83, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025. Born on September 1, 1942, in Union County, North Carolina, Larry was the son of the late Reid Barnette and Bea Harkey Barnette.

Larry attended Wingate Junior College and later built a career in management with Eastern Airlines. After moving to Spartanburg, Larry worked for Diamond Jewelers.

One of Larry's hobbies was oil painting. In his younger years, Larry had a deep appreciation for raising horses.

He was of Baptist faith.

Larry is survived by his children, Cheryl Marie Cooper (Sherry) and Charles E Cannon, Jr. (Chuck), six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his brother, Phil Barnette, and his dog, Harley.
