Larry Addis Blake, 74, of Keithville, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on August 28, 2023. He was born on June 4, 1949, in Ringgold, Louisiana to Addis and Audrey Blake.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana. Funeral services honoring the life of Larry will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Buck Furlow. Honoring Larry as pallbearers will be Jerry Blake, Terry Blake, Cory Blake, Jordan Blake, Jonathan Blake, and Casey Coker. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Sechrist and Brad Warren. Interment will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA 71109.
Larry graduated from Ringgold High School in 1967. After school he joined the Army Reserves in 1969 where he became a medic and served six years. Larry married the love of his life, Lynn Blake on December 22, 1970. He worked at Riley Beards for twenty-seven years. Larry found his true calling at Nursing School where he completed a four-year program at Northwestern State University within two years. He worked at Willis-Knighton Hospital following his nursing degree. In his free time, Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and horseback riding. Larry will be remembered as a man that loved his family, friends, and hospital patients dearly.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Addis and Audrey Blake; and his sisters, Barbara Wallingsford and Catherine Brown. Left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Lynn Blake; sons, Larry Anthony Blake and wife Michelle, Jeremy Wade Blake, and Jonathan Clay Blake; sisters, Sharon Hunter and husband Robbie, Maxine Morgan, Charlotte Coker and husband Marvin, and Tammy Blake; brother, Mark Blake and wife Nita; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren (and one on the way), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
