Larry Bond

IN LOVING MEMORY  

Larry loved his family and his city. He had a very kind and giving spirit. We will always remember our beloved Larry Wayne Bond.Larry was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI to the parents of Pastor Oscar and Mattie Lou Bond. Larry was the eldest of four children Janice, Karen, and Keith.Larry attended Rufus King High School. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church from childhood and into adulthood. Pleasant Grove Baptist Church was pastored by his father Rev. Oscar Bond. Growing up, Larry helped his mom and dad run their neighborhood convenience store and managed family rental properties for nearly two decades. Larry later worked for 28 years as a Maintenance Worker with Milwaukee Public Schools. He retired from Milwaukee Public Schools in June of 2022.In December of 1998, Larry married Patricia. Although Larry did not have any biological children he loved his step children, Jason and Crystal as if they were his own. Jason often bragged about how Larry purchased his first car and how grateful he was for his willingness to help. Crystal often told stories of how she cherished the private Father/Daughter talks they shared. Larry loved and adored his family.Larry enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, nieces and nephews. He was so proud to see them grow up and do great things.During retirement you could always find Larry watching an episode of Gunsmoke, Bonanza or The Andy Griffin Show. Larry could quote each and every episode word for word but still loved watching them as if it was his first time. To keep himself busy he would work on home improvement projects around the house with his son. Larry also enjoyed listening to old school music with his daughter and blasting his tunes throughout the house.In 2022, Larry decided to take a road trip with his wife from Milwaukee, to Mississippi, to Alabama and Tennessee. Larry enjoyed the southern hospitality so much he later decided to move to Tennessee with his fishing poles in tow. Unfortunately shortly after his move to TN, Larry became ill and passed away at the young age of 66. He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Oscar and Mattie Lou Bond.Left to cherish his memories are his wife Patricia Lynn Miller Bond of Tennessee; his children Jason (Jill) Miller of Tennessee, Crystal Mason of Alabama; grandsons Jace and Jaxon Miller of Tennessee, Cameren and Caz Mason of Alabama; his two sisters Janice Bond of Wisconsin, Karen Bond of South Carolina; his brother Marvell Keith (Debra) Bond of Tennessee; two special uncles Charles Winters of Mississippi, War Floyd of Mississippi; three adoring aunts May Winters of Georgia, Dora Winters of Indiana, and Ethel D. Winters of Indiana and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

TRIBUTES TO LARRY

Larry, You were a man who was a bigger star in your own right than most of us..You will always be in my heart and the Love I have for you will never ever die..I cannot express how much I will miss you. Time will teach me how to live with the pain of losing you. Larry for 28 years, life with you taught me unconditional Love and your death taught me kindness..I am grateful I had the opportunity to share your dreams, hopes, love, friendship and so much more. I can still hear your last words to me. I will always remember them until we meet again....Patricia

When I heard that you left me , my heart shattered into little bitty pieces and tears ran down like a waterfall. None of us know the day or the hour that we will be called, but we do know that we all have to leave here one day So with that being said it’s one day @ a time for me. I am going to miss you dearly , but one thing for sure you will always live in my heart. See you later Larry Tears….. Your Sister Janice

Brief is life but love is long. May all of our great memories of you forever live on. Although my heart aches from your absence I know you stand with our ancestors to love guide and protect us together. Thank you for all of the love and light you have brought to my life. ~ Crystal blue 

This is a tribute to you, Larry, my Step-dad. Despite you coming into my mother's life when I was a teenager, you STILL made a very big impact on my life. I remember coming home late after working and going to night school, seeing you sitting there after a hard day's work, listening to your music. Even though I was tired, I still wanted to sit up and talk with you about life, my future goals and even my doubts. You always had a good heart. Anyone who knows you can attest to this.You even bought me my first car-an '88 GMC Jimmy! I loved that truck. It gave me a sense of independence I needed as a young man making his way. You helped me with that and you didn't do it because I asked you to. You did it out of the kindness of your heart. That meant alot to me as a young man feeling like it was me against the world. Much later, you and I would enjoy the fruits of our labor and go clothes shopping. One of my fondest memories of that was when we were shopping and the clerk offered you to look at a pair of shoes to match the pants you were buying. You looked at the shoes and told him, "Man I got those sittin in my closet", I laughed and said, "He does!". You couldn't tell us nothin!I know you are resting in heaven with your parents. You always said how much you missed them. ALL of us here will ALWAYS miss you and love you. Until we me again.-Jason
