Larry Don Clifton age 73 of Lewisburg, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Larry Don was born February 16, 1950 in Pulaski to late Sullivan and Nettie Pearl Gowan Clifton. He enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, farming, fishing, yardwork, playing Yatzee with his close friends and anything Caterpillar. His early years of work was for Giles County Highway Department driving a road grader, which he loved. Most of his work was for ICP and then he retired from Nichirin.
Preceded in death by his parents, Sullivan and Nettie Pearl Gowan Clifton; brothers-in-law, Wayne Lovell, Jimmy Sanders and Roy Desha.
Survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Boring Clifton; son Dereck Clifton of Panama City, FL and Michael Robert Clifton of Pikeville, MD; daughter, Maryann Marie Clifton of Lewisburg, TN; sister, Peggy Clifton Lovell of Columbia, TN; nephews, Timmy (Gloria) Lovell and Terry Lovell; great nephews, Brandon Lovell; great nieces, Ashley and Kimberly Lovell. A special thanks to Jesus Esquiviez during Larry Don illness.
Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Bills McGaugh and Hamilton Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Klaussen and Bro. Frank Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Bryant Cemetery. Brandon Lovell, Terry Lovell, Gary Sims, Randy Fowler, Sam Sanders, Sammy Sanders will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Timmy Lovell. Memorials may be made in Larry Don’s memory to the Mooresville Methodist Church in care of Genie Sanders, 1026 Gupton Road Culleoka, Tennessee 38451. Visitation will be held 4:00PM until 7:00 PM on Monday at Billis McGaugh and Hamilton Funeral Home.
