Larry Roy Cloud

Larry was born June 26, 1947, in Chandler, Oklahoma. He married Bettye Clark on September 29, 1968 in Clovis, NM. Two children were born into their family: Stephen Kyle Cloud was born March 28, 1975, and Caleb Mark Cloud on March 27, 1980.
Larry loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, and faithfully served Him. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Clovis before moving to Lubbock in March 2022. There he was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Through the years Larry sang in the churches' music programs. He also taught classes in youth-age departments and men's classes. Larry served as a deacon and elder at First Baptist of Texico, NM and as an elder at First Baptist of Clovis, NM.
He served honorably in the United States Navy (1968-1972) and was a Vietnam Veteran. He then farmed in the Pleasant Hill area. Larry earned both a Bachelor's and a Masters degree from ENMU during that time. He taught school and coached at Marshall Middle School for twenty-five years before retiring in 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Viva Cloud, a brother Gerald Sullaway, and a sister Judy Jones. Also preceding were his in-laws, Alvis and Rozeltha Clark and sister-in-law Janine [Clark] Bowles.
He is survived by his wife, Bettye, of the home, two sons: Stephen Cloud (Amy) of Lubbock, TX, and Caleb Cloud (Brandi) of Fort Worth, TX; granddaughters: Meaghan Pearce (Andrew), Meredith Solis (Isaiah), and one great-granddaughter Selah Solis, of Lubbock, and a sister Pat Breckenridge of Springfield, MO.
Services will be at 10:30 AM (Mountain Standard Time) on Saturday January 17, 2025 at Central Baptist Church, 2501 N Norris Street in Clovis, NM. Rev. Stephen Cloud will be officiating. A private burial will be held with the family.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to FCA of the South Plains in Lubbock or the Baptist Children's Home in Portales.
