Larry Craig, 83, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on August 8, 2024, at the University of Louisville hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on March 9, 1941, in Salem, Indiana, to the late Hubert Craig and Harriett (Norris) Craig. Larry graduated from Scottsburg Senior High School in Scottsburg, Indiana in the class of 1959. After graduating high school Larry went on to attend Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. It was then that he was drafted to the United States Army. Larry then came back home to Scott County and spent the rest of his life farming. On November 8, 1969, Larry married the love of his life Peggy Sue Mahan, and she survives. Together Larry and Peggy Sue were always active in the Scott County farming community. He was a member of the Scott County Young Farmers, the Scott County Corn Huskers, the Scott County Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Volunteer Fire department at Finley Firehouse. Larry was preceded in death by his parents. In addition to his wife, Peggy Sue Craig, Larry is survived by daughter, Susan (Dave) Collins of Scottsburg; son, Damon Craig of Scottsburg; sister, JoAnn McCarty of Franklin; and grandchildren, Tristan and Braiden Collins, Dylan, Skylar, Brycen, Kayden, Curtis, and Stormi. Funeral for Larry Craig will be on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 3:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Matthew Craig officiating. Visitation Friday, prior to the funeral from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow services at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
