Larry Gene Crouch
May 4, 1956 - April 10, 2025
Larry Gene Crouch, 68, of Lafayette, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and community. Born on May 4, 1956, in Lafayette, Larry lived his life with enthusiasm, cherishing his family, sports, and the vibrant Cajun culture he called home.
Larry's children are Matthew Ross Crouch (Jessica Irene Hamsher) and Anndrea Crouch Guilbeau (Karl Robert Guilbeau). He was a doting grandfather to Hallie Kathryn Crouch, who brought him endless joy. He is survived by his stepmother, Bennie Brown Crouch, and his siblings: Kenneth Crouch (Michelle), David Crouch (Suzy), Billy Crouch (Kay), Joanne McLemore (Bobby), Richard Gilcrease (Sonya), Jack Dendy, and Molly Dendy (Jennifer), along with sisters-in-law Beatriz Crouch and Janet Crouch. Larry's warmth extended to a large number of nieces and nephews, who will carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jodie Crouch Sr. and Anniece H. Crouch; his stepmother, Colleen Magee Crouch; and siblings Dennis L. Crouch and Jodie E. Crouch Jr., Sister-in-law, Loretta Crouch, nephew, Jacob J. Crouch, and niece, Jessica Crouch Venable.
Larry's zest for life shone through in his passions. A beloved figure on the fields of Lafayette, he spent years refereeing and umpiring, earning respect for his fairness and love of sports. Off the field, he lit up dance floors with his moves, especially to the lively rhythms of Zydeco music, and cherished evenings filled with live performances. His career in sales was a perfect fit for his outgoing nature, as he thrived on meeting new people and building connections. Above all, Larry's heart belonged to his family-his children, granddaughter, and the sprawling Crouch clan, who filled his days with pride and purpose.
Larry's laughter, kindness, and spirited presence will live on in the countless lives he touched.
