Larry Elridge Fields

Modesto, CA- Larry Elridge Fields quietly departed this life Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Hospice of San Joaquin, Stockton, California.

Larry "Pops" was born to the late Sam Fields Jr. and Beatrice (Lindo) on August 20, 1949 in San Francisco, California. He attended Pelton Junior High School in San Francisco and graduated from Menlo-Atherton High School in Menlo Park, California in 1968. He worked as a security guard for Burns Security Services for fifteen years before retiring as a security sergeant. He also worked as a school crossing guard for some time after retirement.

Larry enjoyed spending time with friends, going to events and experiencing new activities. Larry was well known by his neighbors and people he discreetly assisted. He had a heart for people and was often described as being kind-hearted and giving. He loved music from the 60's and 70s era and watching movies.

He always looked forward to spending time with his family, especially during the holidays and special occasions. He was loyal to his mother until her death in 2019. He was also a dependable brother to his six siblings who could count on him to be their driver, confidant, and protector. His family loved him greatly and referred to him as "Pops".

Larry embodied calm strength that will continue to resonate with those who knew him. His life and memory will be cherished by his brother, Luther Parker (Victoria) of Modesto, CA; sisters, Barbara Ann Betts of Bay Point, CA, Jacquelyn Magee (William) of Modesto, CA, Diane DeSilva of Reno, NV, and Carolyn Hunter (Darryl) of Columbus, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
