Larry K. Frazier
October 11, 1936 - September 26, 2024
Tacoma, Washington - Larry died in Tacoma, WA on September 26 from complications of Parkinsons, two weeks before his 88th birthday.
He was born in Moscow, Idaho to Esther (Parks) Frazier and Kenneth Frazier, and grew up in Spokane with his brothers Reggie and Jim.
Larry attended Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, received his BA from Eastern Washington University and later earned a Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Washington. He remained a proud and active Husky alum for the rest of his life, ushering at Husky football games for a quarter century.
Larry worked as a city and county planner for over fifty years in Oregon, California, Florida and other counties and cities in Washington State. In his retirement, he and his wife, Tanya, traveled extensively around the world, and enjoyed yearly fishing trips to Alaska.
He is predeceased by his brother, Reggie, who was killed while on active duty. Larry was instrumental in installing a monument at Fairchild Air Force Base to the 13 servicemen, including Reggie, who lost their lives in a plane crash in 1958. He is also predeceased by his grandson, Tyler Frazier. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tanya Pemberton, his brother, Jim Frazier, his children, Larry Frazier Jr, Jay Frazier, Susannah Frazier Vetch (Tim), and his grandchildren, Reese Vetch and Scarlett Stumer.
Services will be held at St. Leo's Church in Tacoma WA on October 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, we suggest donations to St. Leo's Food Connection or Morning Star Boys Ranch, Spokane, WA.
