Larry French Obituary

Larry Dale French affectionately known to many as "Frenchy," passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, in Copperas Cove, Texas, at the age of 57. Born on January 24, 1968, in San Rafael, California, Larry lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, marked by the connections he fostered and the passions he pursued.

As a dedicated truck driver for most of his life, Larry excelled in his role, particularly relishing his supervisory position at MDB. His work allowed him to develop deep bonds with colleagues and was a testament to his hardworking nature. Larry's professional journey was second only to his commitment to family and community.

Larry's spirit shone brightest in the company of his loved ones. He cherishingly recounted memories spent with family and friends during holidays and gatherings. He would often humorously declare, “alright, time to go… don’t know where you’re going, but you can’t stay here!” This jovial nature was emblematic of Larry, who had a unique ability to address everyone he met by their first name, quickly earning their affection with his infectious energy and laughter. He touched the hearts of all who crossed his path.

Among his proudest accomplishments were his efforts to give back to the community, exemplified by the many hours spent volunteering at the Fourth and Hope Shelter. Together with his loved ones, he took great pride in preparing meals for those who were less fortunate, embodying kindness and generosity.

Larry had an unwavering passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. He relished the process of purchasing, building, and modifying each bike, showcasing his dedication to learning and his love for adventure.

Larry’s memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Kayce French, his mother and stepfather, Suzanne and Michael Heckrotte, his mother-in-law, Nanci Blankinship, and his children: daughters Jaemi Montoya, Skylayah Lane, and Johanna Dela Cruz; son Nakia Johnson; and grandsons Elijah and Jasiah Rodriguez, Jayce Woosley-Hort, and Nakoa Flowers; as well as granddaughters Mila Rodriguez, Mariah Garcia, Rylee Woolsey-Hort, and Kailani and Delilah Dela Cruz. Larry is also survived by his lifelong best friend, Bill Erben, and his lifelong friend Jimbo Castillo who shared countless memories and experiences with him since childhood.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Richard French. His legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him. As we celebrate Larry's life, we remember him as a one-of-a-kind human being, full of joy and humor, whose impact will endure through the hearts of his family and friends.
