Larry Geoghegan, 83, passed away on Tuesday, August 26th. Still going through a 25-year brave battle with cancer, he actually succumbed to heart failure. He was born on March 26, 1942 in Lexington, KY to parents Taff and Thelma and later attended the University of Kentucky. He then moved to Houston in his early twenties and decided to call the area home.

Larry retired early from the US Postal Service after 28 years, then earned an accounting degree and worked for H&R Block for another 30 years, working even as late as this year. Larry truly enjoyed working, especially with numbers. He loved reading and was a was a true sports enthusiast. He and his wife traveled extensively throughout North America including multiple, repeat trips to their beloved Great Smoky Mountains and Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Terry of Highlands; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and John Prince of La Porte; sister Ginny Lou Smith of Lexington; sister-in-law and husband Carolyn and Wayne Merritt of Baytown; nephew and wife Joey and Lisa Merritt of Beach City; grandnephew and wife Joseph and Rachel of Seattle; grandniece Tylar Merritt of Philadephia and of course his beloved pups Gidget and Sissy.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to close family, friends, and especially neighbors who have been so generous with their time, love and support during Larry's battle with cancer.
