Larry Hanzie Obituary
Larry L. Hanzie, 84, of Rittman, passed away peacefully with his beloved wife at his side at the Apostolic Christian Home after a brief illness.
Larry was born on May 19, 1939 in Rittman to Virgil and Florence (Griffith) Hanzie and was a 1957 graduate of Norwayne High School. On Aug. 9, 1958 he married the former Janet Mantz and they shared 65 loving years together. Larry was a dairy farmer for many years and also drove milk trucks for Hess Trucking and the mail truck for Bob Ramsier. He was currently working for Stoller Fundraising which he greatly enjoyed. Larry attended Rittman Apostolic Christian Church and volunteered for HarvestCall. He followed Norwayne High School Sports and Ohio State and enjoyed making trips to Holmes County to see the progress of his son, Kevin's company Lizzie Mae Bird Seed. He was always busy doing yard work and he greatly enjoyed the families annual firework show.
Surviving is his wife, Jan; daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and John Deuber of Wadsworth and Kris and Sam Ulery of North Ridgeville; his 8 grandchildren, Jenelle (James) Pamer, Kyler Hanzie, Kassidy Deuber, Jaclyn Deuber, Amanda Ulery, Abigail Ulery, Natalie Ulery and Sam Ulery; great-grandchildren, James IV, Jonah and Joanna Pamer; sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Stan Hartzler of Orrville; sister-in-law, Sandy Hanzie of Rittman and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Jeannette Hanzie, his parents and a brother, Terry Hanzie.
Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 19th at 10:30 a.m. at the Rittman Apostolic Christian Church with ministers from the church officiating. Burial will be in the Apostolic Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, Dec. 18th from 3-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. at the church on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home, 10680 Steiner Rd., Rittman, OH 44270.
