Jerry Alan Winkler

Jerry Alan Winkler, 50, of Lodi, OH passed away, Wednesday, July 16, 2025 after a period of declining health. He was born on August 16, 1974 in Wooster, OH to Andrew and Mary Jane (Beery) Winkler (deceased).
Jerry attended the Wayne County Schools Career Center for carpentry and graduated from Norwayne High School with the class of 1992. Jerry was baptized at the Smithville Apostolic Christian Church on September 8, 2024.
Jerry loved composing and singing music. He never met a stranger; he loved meeting people.
He had a loud, booming voice and you always knew when he walked into the room. He always enjoyed a rousing game of 42 Dominoes. Jerry served in the Army and the Air Force. He was very proud of his service and made it a point to talk and show his appreciation with other veterans. He worked in carpentry and was a truck driver. He had a deep appreciation for good food and loved sharing meals with family and friends, whether at home or dining out. Prison ministries in Wayne County was something he enjoyed.
Surviving in addition to his father, Andrew are his sons Patrick and Spencer; siblings, Sara (James) Steiner of Sterling, Barry (Kristin) Winkler of Bettendorf, IA, Darin (Laurie) Winkler of Rittman, Rachel (Jacob Carmany) Mlynczak of Rittman and Elizabeth Winkler of Rittman. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane and an infant brother, Darin Lee. Also, his paternal grandparents, Alvin and Estella Winkler and his maternal grandparents, Karl and Ruth Beery.
Friends may call on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and from 9:30 am to 10:15 am on Monday, July 21, 2025, at the church.
Services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Smithville Apostolic Christian Church, 8530 Fulton Rd., Sterling, with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Smithville Apostolic Christian Church, 8530 Fulton Rd., Sterling, or to a Veteran charity of the donor's choice.
