Doris A. Lane

Doris A. Lane, age 91, of Wooster, formerly of Sterling, died Monday, November 10, 2025, at Danbury Senior Living in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Doris was born on December 14, 1933 to Fred and Bertha (Hilty) Gasser. She graduated from Rittman High School in 1951 and married Charles (Bud) Lane on April 11, 1952. They shared 73 years of marriage. She worked at Barefoot Sole in Wadsworth, Sterling Elementary School as a cook, then went to Westfield Insurance Company retiring in 1996 after 28 years of service.
Doris was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Sterling. She enjoyed her great-grandchilren's sporting events and loved and enjoyed her family which included: three daughters, Peggy (Joe) Kindy of Sterling, Judy (Phil) Rehm of Orrville, Debra (Randy) Tobias of Sterling; ten grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Kindy, Matthew (Michele) Kindy, Michael (Jenn) Kindy, Tammy (Chris)Finney, Teri (Al) Myers, Molly (Tim) Moran, Ben (Mel) Rehm, Ashley (Jay) Winans, Erin (Chad) Birkes, and Nichole (TJ) Dalenberg. Great-grandchildren, Traci, Kaitlyn (Ryan), Courtney, Kent (Riley), Emma, Peyton, Maddie, Lane, Lauren, Mikayla, Lily Ann, Cooper, Ruthie, Luke, John, Jude, Anna, Claire, Owen, Kendra, Cody, Wyatt, Logan, Libby, Ella, Micah, Jacob, Dylan, Carter and Henry; and great-great grandchildren, Silas, Ryker, and Rowan; sister, Twila Robinson, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Willard, Robert, Lloyd, Maynard, Marvin, Roy and Wayne Gasser, and sisters, Mildred Christian, Helen Marty and Lila Gasser, and
great-grandson, Noah Lane Dalenberg.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, November 13 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 7605 E Pleasant Home Road, Sterling, with Pastor Stephen Olsen officiating. Burial will take place at the Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster.

The family would like to thank the staff at Danbury for their loving care of Doris and Bud. Also, thanks to the LifeCare Hospice staff for their kind and compassionate care of Doris.
