Larry Lee Hill, Sr. was born on April 20, 1953, in Statesboro, Georgia, to the late John Frank Hill, Sr., and the late Earlene Lundy Hill. He was educated in the Bulloch County School System and graduated from William James High School in 1971.
Mr. Hill had an extensive career, having worked at Briggs and Stratton for nineteen years before retiring from ITT Grinnell after twenty-eight years of dedicated service. His hobbies included playing Candy Crush and building small engines for go carts. He was affectionately known as Larry or Yard Dog.
Larry Lee Hill, Sr. passed away on March 16, 2025, at the Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Frank Hill, Jr. and Grady Edward Hill.
He is survived by his loving wife of nineteen years, Diane Ivey Hill of Statesboro, GA; two daughters, Yolanda Hill and Seresa' O Sapp (Nathan), both of Statesboro, GA; three sons, Larry Lee Hill, Jr. (Teresa) of Dublin, GA, Travis Hill (Sad'e) of Statesboro, GA, and Danny Pinkney (Ieshia) of Sylvania, GA; sisters, Juanita Hogan of Decatur, GA; Alice (Walter) Myles of Savannah, GA; and Elaine Hill of Statesboro, GA. Mr. Hill also leaves behind twelve grandchildren: Chloe, Jordan, and Caylon Hill of Statesboro, GA; Carlee and Caylee Davis of Statesboro, GA; Danny Jr., Donavon, Ava, and Arieanna Pinkney, all of Sylvania, GA; Londyn Hill of Atlanta, GA; Elijah and Amarih Jordan of Dallas, TX; LaTerion and Zynus of Dublin, GA. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
Family and friends may visit the mortuary from 4 p.m. to 7 P.M., on Friday, March 21, 2025 for viewing.
The funeral service for Mr. Larry Lee Hill, Sr., will be held at 11 A.M.,. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill's Mortuary, with the Elder Donald Chavers, Jr., Officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Memorial Park Cemetery, Sylvania Georgia.
Final rites have been entrusted with Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
