Larry Holcomb Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home on Mar. 6, 2026.
Larry Neil Holcomb was born on December 20, 1939 to Jack and Louise Stallings Holcomb. He is preceded in death by his father Jack and mother Louise, and brother Sam Holcomb. He is survived by his wife Judy Smith Holcomb of 64 years, one daughter Stacey Baldwin (Danny), one son Trent Holcomb (Michelle). Grandchildren - Meagan Priest (Jeff), Brice Swann (Rachel), Abby Taylor (Cody), Ben Holcomb, Cole Baldwin (Taelor), Alex Baldwin (Kandace), Daniel Baldwin (Brittney). Great grandchildren - Scout Priest, Silas and Ruthie Swann, Kasen Taylor, Hyder and Reese Baldwin, Annlee and Bauer Baldwin, Madison and Eleanor Baldwin. Two sisters-in-law - Linda Holcomb and Bonnie Smith.

Larry was a beloved, devoted husband, father, and Poppy. He led his family as a wonderful example of what it meant to love Jesus and love others. His family was his pride and joy, and he loved to support his family and follow along with their lives. He loved traveling with Judy and his friends, taking beach vacations and spending time with his family. His favorite outdoor activities were fishing and golfing with some of his best friends.

Larry was a lifelong resident of Piggott, AR. He served in the Arkansas National Guard for 8 years. Larry was a successful pharmacist. He served as President of the Arkansas Pharmaceutical Association (1977), received the Pharmacist of the Year Award (1980), and a Golden Graduate Award from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (2011) for 50 years of loyally and effectively serving the community with skill and devotion. In his 55 years as a pharmacist, he owned Larry's Apothecary, Holcomb's Pharmacy, and Piggott Discount Drug; he also worked as a pharmacist at Piggott Community Hospital for over 30 years. Larry loved his profession and was passionate about serving the people of Piggott. He considered the wonderful people he worked with as family, especially Kathy Hoggard, Gay Wegel, Diane Parrish, Kim Adams, and Debbie Garner.

Above all, Larry loved and faithfully served the Lord. He was a member of South Thornton Street Church of Christ, serving as a deacon and elder for many years. He loved teaching Sunday School and used his beautiful voice to lead the singing.
