Larry Dean Holden

Larry Dean Holden, age 84, passed away Sunday May 11th, 2025 at Memorial Health University Medical Center, Savannah GA. Larry was born in Ransom Kansas, August 23rd, 1940. He was the son of Tom Luther Holden and Faith Dena (Strain) Holden.
When Larry was about 8 years old the family moved to Wakeeney Kansas, where Larry attended grade school then went on to graduate at Trego Community High. He went to Wichita Kansas where he earn a BA at Wichita State University.
In June of 1963, Larry married Constance "Connie" A. Angeles of Garden City, Kansas. Together, they had two sons, Larry II and Marc Holden.
Larry was a Drilling Fluids Engineer for many years, known as the 'Mud Man' in the oilfield. Larry worked in Nigeria, Venezuela, California, Louisiana, and many other locations on and offshore.
Larry of Christian faith. He was a member of Zerubbabel Lodge #15 F.&A.M in Savannah Georgia. Larry was proudly a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge.
Larry's family had a Dare Devil Revue Trill Show when Larry was a young boy. At the age of 12, he was known as the 'World's Youngest Stunt Driver'. Along with his brother Tommie they stunted cars doing various dangerous stunts, such as doing ramp to ramp jumps, driving through a wall of fire, and many other dangerous stunts. Larry also went onto be a race car driver, which was just a couple of the many exciting things Larry got to do in his lifetime.
Larry is preceded in death by his Father, Tom Luther Holden, Mother, Faith Dena (Strain) Holden, brothers Jimmy and Tommie Holden. Sisters Doris Carnes and Jackie Sweet. His son Marc Darren Holden, and granddaughter Sophia.
Surviving is wife Linda of 41 years, sons Larry Jr (Teresa) of Santa Rosa, California, Joel Bradshaw (Emely) of Cebu City, daughters Maddy and Harmony. Grandson Robert Holden (Sarah). Granddaughters McKenzy and Miley Holden. Great granddaughter Brooke, great grandsons Walker and Luke Holden. With many more other family members and friends.
There will be a celebration of life service, Thursday, May 22nd at the Zerubbabel Masonic Lodge. Dinner at 6:00pm, following will be a Masonic Ceremony at 7:00pm. The lodge is located at 3001 Chatham Center Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31405.
At a later date, Larry will be taken to Santa Rosa, California, where he will be laid to rest with his son Marc and granddaughter Sophia. At that time we will have another celebration of life for family and friends in California.
