Larry Richard Lapak Sr., age 74, of Reese, passed away peacefully at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw on May 26, 2025. Born on February 6, 1951, in Saginaw, he was the son of the late Richard and Elsa (Hoch) Lapak. He lived a life marked by devotion to his loved ones, service to his country, and a passion for the simpler pleasures in life.
Larry graduated from Buena Vista High School in 1969 and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. His commitment to his nation was a testament to his character.
Larry's professional life was spent at Plant 7 inside Delphi, where he dedicated 32 and a half years before his retirement in 2001. Beyond his professional endeavors, Larry was a member of the Reese American Legion and Christ Lutheran Church.
On December 16, 1989, Larry married the love of his life, the former Linda Sharpe, at Christ Lutheran Church in Reese. Their marriage was blessed with love, laughter, and a beautiful family.
An avid fan of classic cars and the University of Michigan, Larry's interests reflected his love for tradition and excitement. He took great joy in collecting NASCAR memorabilia and meticulously caring for his lawn. Larry was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness and thoughtfulness were the hallmarks of his character.
Larry is survived by his wife, Linda, his children and their spouses: Larry Jr. (Dawn) Lapak, Don (Jennifer) Merrow, and Becky (Brentt) Brunner. His grandchildren, Trevor (Kattie), Tyler, Catie, Tanner, Jace, and Stephanie, as well as his five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Lindner, along with many nieces and nephews. Larry's legacy is one of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. He loved his family to his last breath and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Larry will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church, located at 1928 S. Reese Rd, Reese, MI. Pastor Phil Bromhal will officiate the service. Larry's family will welcome friends at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
