Boonsboro, MD – Larry L. Loudenslager, 80, of Boonsboro, MD passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at his home.
He was born on September 5, 1944, in Hagerstown, MD to the late Paul Leroy and Bronis (Hutzell) Loudenslager.
He was a 1962 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He also graduated from Smith Over Institute.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was stationed at the Pentagon and Washington, D.C.
Larry was employed by the City of Hagerstown, MD for 25 years until his retirement.
He volunteered with Boonsboro Ambulance and Rescue Service.
Larry enjoyed hunting Civil War relics with his son for over 30 years. He loved the outdoors and planting trees and bright sunny days. He spent most of his time helping neighbors with anything and everything they needed.
He built a walking trail with many paths over an acre.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. "Peggy" Loudenslager, whom he married on May 10, 1975; son Michael L. Loudenslager and his wife Jennifer; son Brian L. Loudenslager and his wife Sharon; grandsons Benjamin Loudenslager, Brady Loudenslager, Andrew Parker and Allen Parker; granddaughters Maggie Loudenslager and Mollie Loudenslager; sister Lorraine Eccard and her husband Bill; niece Debra Lohman; nephew Wayne Kretzer, Jr.; many others who he considered family and they called him pappy.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
