Larry Don Mapp

Larry Don Mapp age 84, of Frederick, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the English Village Nursing Home in Altus. Larry's wish was that there would be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.
Larry Don Mapp was born June 7, 1940, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Gaylord Burl and Emma Lee (Boyer) Mapp. He attended Frederick Public Schools, graduating from Frederick High School with the Class of 1958. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in South Korea during peacetime. On July 8, 1961, he and Wanda Lee Robinson were united in marriage in Cromwell, Oklahoma; to this union were born two children, Don Allen and Shelby Ann. Larry was an aircraft mechanic for many years. He later worked for the City of Frederick at the Water Treatment Plant. He loved going hunting and fishing and spending time with his three buddies, Max Kirkpatrick, Brice Prescott and Terry Bennett. He and Wanda loved traveling in the travel trailer for many years, until his health would not permit it.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda Mapp of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sharon Mapp of Hampton, Virginia; a daughter, Shelby (Mapp) Myers of Abilene, Texas; three grandchildren, Heather Mapp and her fiancé Wesley Kisena, Brittany Mapp and her fiancé Isaac Powell, IV, and Kaitlyn Myers; two great-grandchildren, Aria Powell and Alesana Kisena; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Nancy Robinson; a nephew, Pete Robinson; his adopted family, Anne Milks of Frederick, Oklahoma and his adopted grandchildren, Dejay., Karlee, and Nathaniel Milks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Erma Mapp; his mother-in-law, Helen Robinson, a brother, James Mapp; and a son-in-law: Robert "Bob" Myers.
