GREENFIELD – Larry "Ike" Maxwell, 92 of Greenfield, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at his residence. He was born on March 28, 1932, in Rush County, Indiana to the late Earnest & Eva (Roberts) Maxwell. Ike married Barbara Jean (Wickliff) Maxwell on July 3, 1955.
Ike worked and performed many different jobs throughout his career. He did everything from being a Farm Manager at the Pendleton Reformatory, to being a self-employed entrepreneur. No matter what he did, he always had a good work ethic and proudly worked until he was roughly 80 years old. He was one of the original members of the Trinity Park United Methodist Church in Greenfield. He was a member of the Hancock County Antique Tractor Club and a 25-year member of the Pioneer Village at the Indiana State Fair.
Ike is survived by his son, Doug (Deborah) Maxwell of Greenfield; grandchildren, Chris & Lisa Tutrow; Amber Karkowski (Mike Morgan); great-grandchildren, Zachary, Lucas, and Kye Tutrow; Austin Tserlentakis; and Ava Morgan; and several nieces and nephews. Ike is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Maxwell; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Private graveside services will be held by the immediate family. A public memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 2:00pm in the Pioneer Building at the Hancock County Fairgrounds.
Charitable donations in memory of Ike may be sent to the Hancock County Agriculture Association/Pioneer Building, 620 Apple St. Greenfield, IN 46140 or Trinity Park Church, 207 W. Park Ave, Greenfield, IN 46140.

We have fond memories of both Ike and Barbara from Trinity Park Church. My husband Cletus and Ike had some good chats and laughs at the soup kitchen.
We send our condolences to the family. Cletus and Debbie Lamm.
