Larry Glenn McCroskey, 87, of Rockingham, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, January, 28, 2026.
Larry was born April 26, 1938 in Richmond County, a beloved son of the late Theodore and Juanita Parker McCroskey. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a longtime faithful member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church, where faith and values guided his life.
Larry was a hardworking man who dedicated himself to providing for and caring for his family. He deeply loved his late wife Barbara, and his family finds comfort knowing they are together again. Family meant everything to him, and he would do anything for those he loved.
Larry enjoyed playing golf, watching sports on television, and spending time with family. He will be remembered as kind, dependable, and hardworking- a man who always put his family first.
He was a devoted father to Kim Hager (Mike) and Glenn McCroskey (Jennifer), and a proud grandfather to Sarah Barney (Andrew), Matthew Hager, Loch McCroskey and Krew McCroskey. His grandchildren were his joy, and he took great pride in each one of them. He is also survived by his sister, Frances Webb (Paul).
The family will receive friends from 10:45 -11:45 am Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Beverly Hills Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at Noon with Rev. Lenier Furr officiating. Graveside services will follow with Military Honors at Eastside Cemetery.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory and the example of love, faith and dedication he set throughout his life.
