Larry Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Dec. 17, 2025.
Larry Lee Miller was born on February 28, 1941, and passed from this life on December 11, 2025.
Larry was raised on a farm in rural Russell County near Dorrance, Kansas, where he attended school through his secondary years at Centerview. He was brought up in the church and later became a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the now-derelict town of Dubuque, Kansas. In 1969, Larry met and married the love of his life, Jeanette Peroli. Together they built a long and beautiful life filled with love, commitment, and many cherished memories.
Larry developed a lifelong interest in heavy equipment, which led to a successful and fulfilling career in construction. He contributed to several large-scale projects, most notably the construction of Wilson Lake in 1961, a reservoir built and managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control. Earlier in his career, he worked with Steinle Construction and Bemis Construction, finding both challenge and satisfaction in his work.
Throughout his career, Larry relocated many times, yet his goal was always to settle in Oklahoma, a place he eventually called home. There, he enjoyed some of his favorite pastimes, including attending rodeos, and he treasured the ease of traveling to Colorado with his family.
Larry is survived by his sister, Valda L. Heinze and husband Dale, and brother, Robert A. Miller; his daughter, Stefanie Miller Arellanes; and his grandson, Cody Arellanes.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Mark and Stephanie Heinze; Michelle and Ray Rohret; Mellisa and Justin Miller; Mindy and Paul Burkhalter; Michael and Angela Wondra; and Rob Miller, along with many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margie L. Wondra, brother-in-law, Ambrose Wondra, and his parents, Laborious and Amelia Miller.
