Larry, Our Rock, was born on June 2, 1945, in Sargent, Nebraska. He moved to Texas after joining the Air Force as a body man. He was stationed in San Antonio, Texas, and then transferred to Amarillo. Upon honorable discharge from the Airforce, he moved to Pampa as a spray painter for Cabot. During this time, he was diagnosed with Idiopathic Congestive Cardiomyopathy. He continued working and slowed down very little. In July of 1992, he became very ill and was sent to Houston to await a heart transplant. It was February 6th when he was blessed with the gift of a new heart. After recovering and returning to Pampa in May 1993, he was unable to return to work, so he started volunteering with Meals On Wheels. He continued this ministry until 2010. His true passion was in ministering to children about the Lord. He started teaching Sunday School in 1983 and continued this until his passing. He formed a bus ministry that reached out to underserved children all over Pampa. Larry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 42 years and served in the deacon ministry. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan through and through.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
