Larry Gene Peeples, age 71, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Brightmoor Hospice.

Larry was born on March 27, 1954, in Griffin, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Hudson Peeples. Larry attended Griffin High School and was a veteran of the United States Army with a rank of SP4. Owner of Peeples Mobile Home Service and Peeples Roll-Off Dumpsters, later in life, he was Nana's chauffeur and farm hand! Larry was an avid race fan and car owner, having recently built his first dirt late-model car. He loved watching NASCAR and old Westerns. Larry was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley Steele; daughters and their spouses, Dawn Hutchens (Tim) and Heather Tucker (David); grandchildren, Marisa Hutchens, Blain Hutchens, Leala Hutchens, Chance Hutchens, and Ava Claire Hutchens, Emilee McUmber (Michael), and Anslee Tucker and Bryson Tucker; great-grandchildren, Millie Jane Wimpey and Ruthie Mae McUmber; special friend of 36 years, Debbie Norwood; sisters, Glenda Bearden and Gail Patton; half-sister, Monica Murphy; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow. Pastor Ken Peeples and Pastor Mike Barnes will officiate. Interment will be at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
