Lawrence (Larry) Edward Pinkman, born May 25th, 1943, died April 21st, 2024, of complications from advanced Parkinson's Disease. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Madeline (Brubeck) Pinkman, his older sister, Geraldine Pinkman, and his wife, Constance (Connie) Faye (Good) Pinkman. He leaves his older brother, Charles (Charlie) Pinkman and wife, Mary, of Kansas City, MO; his only son, Mark Edward, and wife Valerie Lang (Thompson) of Stanardsville, VA, as well as grandchildren Olivia Faye, Simon David, and Jackson McGuire, also of Stanardsville, VA, and Forrest Edward and his wife Tessa Marie (MacDonald) and their children Fiadh Marie and Waylon Edward Pinkman of Morrisville, PA.
Larry attended early school in Caplinger Mills, MO. After graduating from Stockton High School, MO, he moved to Kansas City, MO (and later, the surrounding Missouri suburbs) and worked for Hallmark Cards. He quickly gained employment with Western Electric as a technician, where he advanced in the testing department, developing early printed circuit boards. He took an early retirement in 1981 from Western Electric, and moved back to Stockton, where he worked on the family farm with his in-laws, Harry and Winnie (Estes) Good. During that time, he also purchased and ran Smith Heating & Cooling.
His greatest love in life was his wife, Connie, who told him she wouldn't marry him unless he promised to take her to church every week. They were married June 22, 1963, he faithfully took her to church, and very shortly thereafter, he was saved and baptized and began his personal relationship with God, becoming a member of Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, and then transferring his membership to Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church when the family moved back to Stockton, where he became a Sunday School teacher, and a deacon.
He had a ready wit, and a love of cars and motorcycles. He refurbished several antique cars after retiring. The pink and cream 1957 Ford Ranchero that he owned for over 50 years remains in the family, and he had one last ride in it just a week before he passed.
His remains will be privately buried in the Stockton Cemetery. Visitation and memorial services will be held at Bland-Brumback Funeral Home in Stockton, MO, from 6-8 pm on Friday, May 31st, and 10am on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, respectively.
