Larry F. Reith, 84, Linn, died Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Parish Hall, Linn with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Linn with Rev. Mark Gaschler officiating..
Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Linn, KS.
Larry Frederick Reith was born Aug 3, 1941, in Clay Center, to Fred and Edna (Beikman) Reith. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
In 1959, Larry graduated from Linn High School. He began his farming career while in high school and worked as a hired hand for area farmers. Larry served in the Army Reserves from 1962-1967.
Larry was united in marriage to Lorene Helms on May 30, 1971 by Rev. Harlan Meier at Immanuel. They raised four sons, Dan, Aaron, Kevin and Brent.
He enjoyed backgrounding cattle. He and his brother Rich, farmed together and had a hog feeding operation. Later in life he worked at Farmland hog buying station and Willow Creek Dairy.
He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was a council member and long-time Mens’ Club member.
Larry was community-minded and served as board member for businesses including Blue Valley Telephone Co., Palmer Housing Board; Palmer Grain Elevator; and 50-year member of American Legion of Palmer and Linn. He coached a number of young ball teams.
Preceding him in death are his parents; infant daughter Janay; brother-in-law, Mel Wille; and sisters-in-law, Lora Guffey and Mary Helms.
Survivors include his wife; sons Dan (Kim); Aaron ( Tina); Kevin (Sam); Brent (Kendra); grandchildren, Taylor, Kendal, Evelyn, Lydia, Nathan, Jack, Henry, Brigham, Lawson; brother Rich (Dianne); and sister Shirley Wille; in-laws, Linda (Dallas) Beikmann; Leanne (Dave) Weems; Marlene (Jim) Shellenberger; Robert (Kim) Helms; Leila Schuh; Rod Helms.
A memorial fund is established in his name and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
