Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory - Nevada on Mar. 14, 2026.
Larry Wayne Robinson, age 80, of Nevada, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, surrounded by his four kids.

Larry was born January 4, 1946, in Ankeny, Iowa, the son of Earl Wayne and Inez Irene (Robertson) Robinson. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1964 and started working at John Deere. He was later drafted into the United States Army. Following his discharge from the Army, Larry worked for John Deere in Ankeny as a painter, retiring in 1996.

On April 15, 1967, Larry was united in marriage to Connie Byers in Nevada at St. Patrick Church. To this union four children were born: Jeff, Tracy, Joe, and Monica. Connie preceded him in death in 2005. On July 11, 2008, Larry was united in marriage to Marcia Stoeffler. Marcia passed away in 2022.

Larry's faith was deeply important to him, and he was an active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Nevada. He enjoyed raising his hobby herd of Limousin cattle, collecting guns, and keeping up with his grandkids' lives through long phone calls.

Larry is survived by his children: Jeff (Rachel) Robinson and Jeff's daughter, Felicity (Riley) Mantey, and her children, Remi and Rauree; Tracy (Scott) Zimmerman and their son, Josh Zimmerman; Joe (Britney) Robinson and their children, Caleb (Katie) Robinson, who are expecting their first child in June, and Samuel Robinson; and Monica (Derek) Kardell and Derek's son, Maddix. He is also survived by Marcia's children, Shane (Jody) Stoeffler, their daughters, Sena and Sharlynn and family; Shad (Amy) Stoeffler, their sons Brock and Blake and family; his cousin, Brenda (Dean) Reynolds; his nephews, Doug and Todd; and his niece, Diana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Connie; his second wife, Marcia; and his brother, Duane Robinson.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in honor of Larry. He will be laid to rest at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stead Family Children's Hospital in Iowa City or the Ronald McDonald House.
