Passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Bavarian Comfort Care, Bridgeport, MI. Age 87 years. Larry was born on September 10, 1938, in Saginaw, to the late John and Arlene (Bender) Roenicke. Larry was married to Lorelei J. (Arndt) Roenicke on July 11, 1959, in Saginaw, MI. She survives him.
Larry was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Saginaw, MI. Prior to his retirement, Larry spent most of his career driving an 18 wheeler all over Michigan and the mid-west. He loved his trucks and spending time on the road. After his retirement he helped out with the Schluckebier Brothers Farm.
Surviving besides his wife, Lorelei, are his two children and their spouses, Barbara (Michael) Terry, and Lin (Kurt Bennett) Bentley; three grandchildren, Emily Anne (Damion) Harmon, Joy Marie Bentley, Ryan Keith (Sarah) Bentley; five great-grandchild, Aidan, Hannah and Madalyn Bentley, Olivia Bentley and Ben Hefner; one brother, John (Patti) Roenicke; sister-in-law, Madalyn (John) Schaecher, Gwen (Willis) Jackson, and Irene (Doyle) Edwards and many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. Besides his parents, John and Arlene Roenicke, Larry was predeceased by his brother, Gary Roenicke and his wife, Kathelyn; In-laws, Rufus and Irene Arndt, and son-in-law, Brian Bentley.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of 3-East at Covenant Cooper, Avista Rehab in Bridgeport, Wellspring of Frankenmuth, and Bavarian Comfort Care in Bridgeport. Your care and companionship were greatly appreciated.
The Celebration of Larry's Life will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc.1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, MI. The Pastor Connie Sassanella will officiate. Private family burial will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., then on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. Dress in your best flannel and jeans to match Larry.
Memorial contributions may be given to charity of donor's choice. Memories and sympathies of Larry may be shared with the family on his memorial website at WakemanFuneralHome.com
